Series CPP/PH - Photographs

Principally includes formal and informal photographic prints showing members of the Cundall family and their friends, including photographs of family holidays, events, portraits, and houses and gardens.

The majority of the photographs comprise monochrome photographic prints in a variety of formats, including cartes de visite, mounted prints, loose prints, and photograph albums. The series also includes a small number of early photographic types including ambrotypes and tintypes, one photographic negative, and a small number of colour photographic prints.

There is considerable overlap of content between files within this series, and it is clear that photographs in different files may have been taken at the same time.

The photographs have been arranged according to their original envelopes, and then chronologically. As it is not know on what basis these original envelopes were created, they have been retained in order to preserve this context. However, the photographs are considerably mixed within these envelopes in terms of content and type, and it is clear that some photographs in different envelopes may have been taken at the same time.
