The collection consists of an extensive series of school magazines, two printed school registers and three volumes of printed school reports.
Bootham SchoolThe school magazine was launched in 1902 to coincide with the reopening of the school after a fire in 1899. The magazine was issued at regular intervals throughout the year, and included articles, photographs and letters.

The annual reports were produced by the management committee of the school as a way of reflecting on the performance of the school over the previous year. Each report includes photographs and details of school performance and special events. The reports from 1915 to 1963 have been bound, whilst those editions from 1964 onwards are unbound.

Two printed registers for Bootham School, one from 1914 and one from 1935, both of which include short biographies of former pupils since the school opened in 1922. Each volume is arranged alphabetically by surname of the pupil.
The booklet is a transcript of an address delivered at the celebration of the Centenary of Bootham School by Sir George Newman KCB, MD, DCL..

Includes annual reports for the fund, 1914-1940 (reports for 1915-17, 1920, 1923, 1925, 1929 and 1932 are missing) as well as a commemorative history of the fund from its foundation in 1879 to 1929.
The booklet appears to have been used as publicity to attract new pupils to the school.
