The collection consists of an extensive series of school magazines, commissioner's report 1894 and school calendar from 2007. The school was also known as the Cathedral School of St Peter of York.

The report includes a history of the school, and cathedral schools in general, as well as information about the school site and buildings.

The magazine includes information on the school's sports clubs, important information about the school and its pupils. Initially published four times per year, the magazine was published six-monthly from the 1970s and by 1984 began to be published annually.

The volumes for May 1975, May 1976, May 1977, May and October 1978 and May 1979 are all missing.

The brochures were compiled to accompany a plea for funds to support the new school extension. Two volumes are entitled 'St Peter's School', whilst the third is detailed 'St Peter's School Appeal - extension project and war memorial.'

The Old Peterite Club was the association for former members of the school. Includes annual reports for 1905, 1907 and 1912, as well as a dinner menu for a club dinner held on 5/7/1906.

The appointment of trustees relates to land in the townships of Kelfield and Moreby.
