The collection comprises annual reports for the school, annual reports for the Mount Old Scholars Association, a published history of the school, reports for the Lydia Rous Scholarship Committee, a programme for the centenary amateur dramatics production and recent advertising leaflets.

The annual reports include details of how the school was performing, interesting events and activities and lists of staff. Reports for 1909, 1948 and 1968 are missing. The annual report for 1942 is bound with the report for Bootham School - please see the collection BOO for further details.

The reports include articles about the school and its scholars, as well as photographs of events. Also includes lists of names and addresses of Association members, which is why access is restricted under the Data Protection Act for some of these items. Also includes an undated list of members of the association.

The history primarily consists of scholars who attended the school between 1785 and 1906, as well as lists of teachers.
