Administrative records of the society, including: rules and orders, membership papers, financial records, membership benefits records, administrative papers and correspondence, report and publications, and a small number of photographs and object relating to the society.

The collection includes a small number of account books pre-dating the formal establishment of the society in 1788, and some material relating to the continued administration of funds and remaining members after the society was dissolved in 1977.

Contains financial records relating to the administration of the society's overall finances, and to the management of the society's main funds: the General Fund, which was paid into by subscription fees of the general members and was used to administer the sick benefits of the society; the Private Fund, which paid into by subscriptions from honorary members and was used for discretionary payments; and the Annuity Fund, which was used to fund annuities to long lived members.

Records include account books and cash books, financial papers and banking records, and papers realting to society investments.

The back of the volume includes 'Resolutions, Memorandums etc respecting the Private Fund', dating 1796-1834, with the exception of one list (details below). This section includes: a divident receipt from the five per cent annuities government stocks; notes from meetings; resolutions; rules and a description on the nature and administration of the Private Fund; a list of those who have served as Preacher to the society 1796-1852; total receipts and expenditure of the fund; and a list of honorary members, 1811. A note at the end of this section indicates that resolutions relating to the fund would be kept in a separate volume in the future.

Also includes a signed declaration of trust made by William Withers and William Gray, declaring that the money invested in the stock was not their own money, but belonged to the York Female Friendly Society.
