2 copies. Rowe was born in York in 1726, was trumpeter in the Duke of Kingston's Light Horse at the Battle of Culloden in 1746, and then spent 45 years as trumpeter to the High Sheriff of Yorkshire.
George Sandys (1578-1644) was born in Bishopthorpe.
Also includes an autograph. The etching was possibly originally part of a book, and was presented to the York Public Library in September 1918 by Miss Holtby of Clifton.
