Includes administrative papers and correspondence compiled by Tony Neal in his roles with the Guild of Building, broadly arranged by date. The majority of the files contain mixed papers including (across the series): papers relating to events and dinners, including annual dinners and the organisation of the Past Masters' dinners; correspondence; membership lists; news cuttings; guild bye-laws; committee and court minutes and papers, including minutes of the Annual General Meeting; papers relating to the creation of newsletters; papers relating to the history of the guild; and photographs of people and events. Not all of these papers are present in each file.

Includes receipts, invoices and cheque stubs arranged chronologically. Incomplete series. The collection is not thought to represent all the financial transactions accrued by the Company during this period. Some later files also include correspondence and press cuttings.

Please note that receipt stubs are usually contained in five year bundles, but filed with the records of the first year concerned. The records up until 1890 correspond with the entries in BUT/2/1. These files were originally contained in a metal deed box. See BUT/4 for the deed box itself, which has also been retained.
