The slide is labelled: 'Badge of Sword Bearer' and 'Mr Layley's Chain, York'. The silver shield bears the arms of the city (St George's cross with five leopards distributed across it). The chain is also composed of linked leopards and there is a smaller silver shield attached to the main shield, also bearing the arms of the city, with a single pendant leopard hanging below it. Caption: 'At Ecouen the figure of the Virgin and at Chantilly the whole subject have been taken from the print of 'The Queen hearing the reply of the Oracle' from the series illustrating the story of Psyche by The Master of the Die'.
