The slide is labelled: 'Badge of Sword Bearer' and 'Mr Layley's Chain, York'. The silver shield bears the arms of the city (St George's cross with five leopards distributed across it). The chain is also composed of linked leopards and there is a smaller silver shield attached to the main shield, also bearing the arms of the city, with a single pendant leopard hanging below it.
