The window dates from 1537 and includes the name Hans Wichrer.

The panels could be from the Great East Window at York Minster.

Judging by the use of abbreviations and marks, the text is likely to be medieval in origin.

The image depicts a family with a crib.

The images are possibly of saints, and could be taken from etchings. The images themselves are very faded.

The image itself is quite difficult to make out.

The booklet has been made by John Ward Knowles and contains handwritten notes regarding designs and cartoons, glass painting materials, fixing cost of materials, wood trellis and labour. Under each heading, notes have been stuck regarding specific windows and projects, in date order. The booklet itself is made up of cut-down newspapers.

Originally labelled 'Vergers', the bundle contains one handwritten covering note and 10 photographs, presumably of the Minster vergers. Also includes one newspaper cutting dated 1908 regarding Mr Herbert Stansfield being appointed junior verger at the Minster.

Loose newspaper cuttings which had not yet been bound into volumes.

Includes newspaper cuttings and handwritten notes, primarily relating to church bells in York (including those of York Minster).

The letterbook is interspersed with handwritten notes by J W Knowles relating to stained glass and glass painters, as well as newspaper cuttings and copies of printed articles. Also includes a small volume entitled 'Index to glass painters.'

The list of works is arranged alphabetically. Also includes a newspaper cutting dated 20 May 1912 regarding the business of J W Knowles and Sons.
