The collection consists of an extensive series of school magazines, commissioner's report 1894 and school calendar from 2007. The school was also known as the Cathedral School of St Peter of York.

The report includes a history of the school, and cathedral schools in general, as well as information about the school site and buildings.

The magazine includes information on the school's sports clubs, important information about the school and its pupils. Initially published four times per year, the magazine was published six-monthly from the 1970s and by 1984 began to be published annually.

The calendars include lists of events and were originally published termly (three times a year). Incomplete set.

The lists include names and dates of birth of all pupils at the school, and as a result access to them has been restricted under the Data Protection Act.
