              This series includes a variety of items and documents which are apparently connected with the Kleiser family. it includes a lock of human hair, assorted cards and tickets, postcards, handwritten notes, cigar boxes, a book, a copy of an Act regarding playhouses, a travel brochure, an envelope, and pages from a periodical. KLE/7/11 - Kursaal Travel Brochure - is written in French.

              Correspondence of Cuthbert Joseph Kleiser reflecting his personal and business life and his interest in, and support of the theatre in York and further afield. With the exception of KLE/5/1/25, all correspondence is from other individuals to Kleiser. He is sometimes addressed as 'Joseph', 'Joe' or 'Mr J Kleiser', particularly in the more informal letters from friends and family. Indeed, he signs himself 'J Kleiser' in the single piece of correspondence sent by him to Mr Cahill (KLE/5/1/25).

              This series includes letters and postcards, the majority received by Cuthbert Joseph Kleiser. There is a letter to John Henry Kleiser, as well as empty envelopes (some with no addressee), and a postcard with no addressee. The letters cover a wide variety of subjects, but primarily relate to Cuthbert Kleiser's interest in and support of the theatre and other cultural establishments, family life, and the Kleiser business. The collection includes letters from Bob de Little in Melbourne, Australia. There are also four letters to Cuthbert Kleiser from Arthur Furnish, City Librarian.

              Black and white photographs of individuals from various families linked to the Kleiser family. Names include Potter, Richardson, Kerous, Pool, Allison, Smith, Biscomb, Winterholden, Whittaker, Valentine, Dindale, Rodwell, Shillito, Moore, Morris and Collins. Other photographs provide only first names for the subjects. The Potters were connected to the Kleisers by marriage. The Shillitos and Moores weere connected to the Cundalls by marriage.

              Black and white photographic portraits of the Richardson family and Potter family. Includes Louisa Potter (who later became Mrs Richardson), and Dixon Potter. Dixon Potter was the brother of Hannah Potter who married Andrew Kleiser. His Will and Probate are included in this collection, see KLE/6/3/7. The Richardsons were connected to the Potters by marriage.

              Photograph albums, cartes de visite, and loose photographs depicting the Kleiser family and related families and persons (including Cundall family), as well as various locations and the Kleiser shop at 22 Parliament Street. The collection also includes 12 photographs of assorted Catholic clergymen. Some of the photographs include handwritten identifications of the subjects, in others the subject is not identified. Some photographs are professional studio portraits, others are amateur 'snaps'. There are duplicates of some of the photographs. All the photographs are in black and white or sepia, though some have been tinted with colour.
              The Cundalls were related to the Kleisers by marriage.

              The dates of several of the volumes overlap.
              Some of the notes are written in biro, dating their creation to the mid to late 20th century, most likely pre-1989..
