Handwritten memoir of the work Walter Rylatt carried out as a stonemason / carver for York Corporation. In particular, he worked on the carvings on Micklegate Bar, which were replaced ahead of the Festival of Britain in 1951. Includes photographs and hand-drawn images throughout, and one loose photograph inside the front cover. Some of the pages have been deliberately removed before transfer to the archives service. The cover includes a copper engraving of Micklegate Bar.
