Biographical history
Benton was born in York on 7th February 1899. He was raised in York and went on to work on the railways. He signed up to fight during the First World War, and returned home injured in 1918 following the loss of his lower left arm and a bone in his right arm. His date of death is currently unknown.

Includes two certified copies of a certificate of birth, one discharge certificate, and a digitised copy of the medical notes of Robert Benton prior to his discharge. Digital copies of all these items also exist. Please note that the medical records are held in digital copy only.
