Biographical history
Brian Hartley was born in 1929, and attended Trinity Hall, Cambridge in 1950, where he studied for the Natural Sciences Tripos. He then went on to gain a distinction in the Diploma in Prehistoric Archaeology. He retired from the University of Leeds in 1995, and passed away on 26th April 2005.

Includes issue of Archaeology: The Voice of Archaeology in Britain and Beyond (January - February 2011) that contains article on the work of Brian Hartley titled "Names on Terra Sigillate, tracing the work of Roman potters" (p.32-37). Also includes cut out from the Times (18 May 2005) with an obitary of Brian Hartley (p.61).
