Portée et contenu

This ledger - kept by Mr Ken Houghton in his capacity as quality control manager for the Hull-Selby-York Shipping Company in Poads Yard, York - records cargoes of animal feed compounds shipped from Hull to York between 1966 and 1969. The record includes the name of ship on which the cargo arrived in Hull, the type and tonnage of animal feed transported, and the barge and date on which it arrived in York. There are notes in the margins about damage to the product or inaccuracies in the shipping manifests.

Pasted into the back of the volume is a short typescript summary of the volume contents, signed by Mrs Tessa Mitchell.
