Small ledger, with alphabetical index, used to record sales of travel journeys, mainly showing transatlantic crossings, but also showing cruises and train journeys in Europe, and holiday tours.
Ledger entries principally include the name of the ship, details of the travel arrangements, the names of the purchasers, the date of sale, details of payments made and commission, receipts, the addresses and passport numbers of travellers, and other associated details, which sometimes includes the names and ages of the travellers.
The ledger also includes running accounts for the sale and purchase for stock, principally for a tobacco account, 1943-1948, and a wages and insurance account, 1955.
