Reports related to road accidents in York

This series contains archaeological reports relating to excavations within the City of York Council area. It is believed that the reports were commissioned by the City Archaeologist as part of the planning process. Work on the excavations was carried out by a number of third party contract archaeologists.

Comprises house inspection records for Bilton Street, Duke of York Street, Cross Court, Hallfield Road (no. 15 only)and Redeness Street (no. 56 only). Records include house inspection sheets; notifications of drain inspections; correspondence; recommended works and notices to execute works; and small scale-plans for some properties.

Comprises statements for the York Poor Law Union, York Out-Relief Union, and Escrick Out-Relief Union.

Collector's ledgers record payments made by relatives (or organisations) towards the cost of maintaining individuals receiving out-relief, housed in a York Poor Law institution, or in an asylum.

Includes name of pauper; name and address of contributor; date of original order; and record of payments. Some entries may include further observations.
