Register made by Sir William Pinder, hospital clerk, Master of the Hospital of St Thomas the Apostle without Micklegate Bar. The register includes:
Ordinances of the hospital, 1552,
Minutes of the meetings held by the Maister and Bretheren, 1552-1583,
Accounts for the year 1575,
Survey of the lands etc belonging to the hospital at Stamforth Bridge and associated memoranda (1558) and
'Copie of the Docquett certified by Mr Atturney Generall under the King's Bill signed,' relating to the acquisition by the Corporation of some of the messuages in the City of York, part of the estate of the hospital.

The conveyance relates to an unidentified premises.

Includes rulings of the Court Baron of the manor, as well as the surrender of Robert Wilberfoss of Huntington, yeoman, to Richard Straker of Murton. Please see item level descriptions for more detailed information about the contents of this series.

The ruling of the Court Baron in the Manor and Prebend of Strensall on John Straker of Murton whos lands were to be split amongst his son Robert and wife Elizabeth after his death, followed by their male hairs. The entry fine was 6s-8d.

These deeds had been separated from the remainder.

Letter book of Henry Hastings (c1535-1595), who became the 3rd Earl of Huntingdon in 1560. He served as Lord President of the Council of the North from 1572-1590 and also Lord Lieutenant of Yorkshire from 1586 to 1595. N.B. This is a microfilm copy of the original manuscript, which is held at the Huntington Library in San Marino, USA.

The ruling of the Court Baron in the Manor and Prebend of Strensall on Robert Straker who came into the court and sought entry to the land that had belonged to his father, John Straker deceased, held in the tenure of Silvester Straker. The entry fine was 5s.

Includes a tithe dispute between the curate of St Olave's and Sir William Robinson; papers between the curate of St Michael le Belfrey and Sir William Robinson, and papers relating to a riot on Rawcliffe Moor.

Deed of conveyance from William Holdyard Esquire, Recorder of York, to the Lord Mayor, Sheriff and certain Aldermen of the House called the Guild or the Fraternity of Corpus Christi without Micklegate Bar with all lands and tenements belonging to the guild in the City and in Stamford Bridge and Buttercrambe parcel of the possessions of the same guild. Also one annual rento f £16 reserved out of certain lands (the other part of the possessions of the guild but sold to John Palmes Esquire by Indenture dated 20/6/1590).

Account rolls for St Anthony's hospital for years 1592-1595, 1611-1614, 1617-1620.
Four account rolls belonging to one of the hospital (which exactly is unclear): One 1540, one fifteenth century and 2 undated.

Various documents collected by the Yorkshire Philosophical Society comprising civic, royal, and offical documents, including accounts and extracts from the Sherriff rolls of Yorkshire, accounts of the King's deer, certificates of appointment and commission of people in the armed forces, royal warrants and levies, letters patent, and the appointment of an official supplier by the Duchess of Kent.

Ceritifcate issued and sealed by Robert Brooke and Ralph Richardson, aldermen and justices of the peace, both of York, testifying that John More was living and in very good health on 15 April 1594.
