Marked 'John Creser's Book'.

This appears to be an earlier volume retained by Knowles.

The items in this series were created by members of the extended Knowles family, however they can no longer be attributed to one family member in particular.

The creed was apparently written by John Steward of Whitby and relates to William Pitt, Chancellor of the Exchequer and Henry Dundas.
