Original published lists of felons convicted at the York Assizes and moved to York Castle for their sentences to be carried out. The lists include names, ages, details of their crimes and the sentence passed. All lists are numbered and arranged by date of the offence.

This register of weavers' apprentices commences in the reign of Edward IV (1461) and, with omissions, continues to 1502. This book is significantly decayed with many entries being illegible.

One of the two earliest city memoranda books. Detailed information on the contents can be found in the Giles Catalogue (1909)

The assessments give the names of the persons assessed and the amount payable, and also the names of the Poor Folks and the amount paid to them. 6 volumes:

Husgabel (husgabulum) or gavelgeld, were terms used at York for a tax paid paid to the king or archbishop on house properties. This is an incomplete record of husgabel covering the areas of Goodramgate (?), Bootham, Monkgate, and Micklegate, and the amounts recorded were payable to King Edward I. It is the earliest surviving record produced by the civic authorities in York.
Note that in his catalogue of York's civic records, William Giles incorrectly identifed this roll as a chamberlain's roll [Catalogue of the charters, house books, freemen's rolls ... and other ... old documents belonging to the Corporation of York ... compiled by William Giles, 1909].
