Includes insights into the life of a middle class family in York during the late 19th and early 20th centuries as well as chapters on teacing methods, her time working in Holland during the First World War and her active role in the Women's Suffrage movement. The autobiography ends in 1918 but includes further descriptions of York in 1937 describing changes which have taken place in the city. Note that this typed copy does not include all chapters indicated in the contents page.
