Angelo Raine was born in 1877, the son of James Raine (1830-1896) and Ann Keyworth. He died in 1962.
He was the grandson of James Raine, Antiquary and Clergyman (1791-1845).

Angelo Raine was Rector of All Saints, Pavement, Church.in York and was Honorary Archivist to the Corporation.
He published a detailed topographical survey - "Medieval York" in 1955.
He also collected together and copied notes from his father James Raine's diary on his observations of the excavation work done during the construction of York Railway Station.
