Two signed contracts relating to the terms of employment. In 1906 Smith is employed by Wilson and Company of Fulford as Sub-Manager of a Yard at Layerthorpe Bridge, and in 1908 the memorandum relates to the position of Sub-Manager of a Yard at Layerthorpe.
