Includes street renumbering records; and street improvement papers for the following areas: Castlegate and Water Lanes; Jubbergate; Spurriergate and Coney Street; Little Blake Street (Duncombe Place); Heslington Road; Gillygate, Skeldergate and Holgate Road; Monkgate and Layerthorpe.
Note only street improvements undertaken prior to the establishment of the Streets and Buildings Committee (i.e. up to c1890) have been catalogued. Later records relating to street improvements are currently uncatalogued.

Parochial, municipal and parliamentary registers of electors. Depending on the extent of the franchise at different periods, these may be found in seperate volumes or combined together. Registers up to and including 2006 are on open shelves in the Archives reading room and do not need to be ordered: Y/COU/6/1, Y/COU/6/2, Y/COU/6/3, Y/COU/6/4. The current electoral roll is found in series Y/COU/6/5 and Y/COU/6/6 and do need to be requested. Different access regulations appy to the edited and full versions, staff will be able to advise on which you should order.
