Research is on a wide variety of subjects relating to the Acomb area including manor court rolls, families, individuals, buildings, churches and education.

Scrapbooks containing programmes, tickets, photographs, press-cuttings and other ephemera documenting performances in which James 'Jim' Hammond took part. Some of the items in the scrapbooks are annotated or signed.

The items in this collection were deposited in the York Reference Library primarily, by a number of different people, many of whom are now unknown. The cuttings are arranged into series by the year in which they were catalogued.
