91 photographic prints, principally mounted as carte de visite but also including a small tintype mounted onto card. The images show formal portraits of men, women, and children, including those showing head and shoulders only, and those showing the full person. Includes images of H F Farrer as a school boy wearing a mortarboard, and image of a woman wearing widow's clothing, an image of a soldier c1860s, and an image of a man in Freemason's clothing.
Many of the mounts include the name and details of photographers and photographic studios, principally in York, Scarborough, Leeds, Dundee, Lincoln, Bradford, Harrogate, Tubingen, and London.
The majority of the images do not include names or captions, however some do include this.
