Personal papers of the Cundall family of Acaster Malbis, and of related families, principally the Kettlewell family. The collection includes certificates, diaries, legal and property papers, autograph ooks, personal correspondence including correspondence of Robert Kettlewell at school in the 1820s, and family photographs. The collection also includes a collection of historical and genealogical notes made about Acaster Malbis and the Cundall family.
Education and musical examination certificates.
Two certificates for examinations held at Harrogate in 1913 and 1914.
Certificate issued by the University of Cambridge for the examination of junior students not members of the university. The certificate shows that the examination was held at a centre in Saltburn in December 1915, in six subjects: Religious Knowledge, English Language and Literature, Geography, French, Botany, and Memory Drawing.
Pre-printed pocket diaries containing completed information about events and activities undertaken.
Poole's Pocket Album. Includes pre-printed almanac material, and blank pages for the owner to make their own diary notes, The majority of these pages have been left blank, but some pages include pencil notes made about personal occasions, family visits, and other events.
Poole's Select Pocket Remembrances. Includes pre-printed almanac information and blank pages include a space to be completed for every day of the year. The majority of these pages have been completed, with notes made every day about the activities of the owner, including personal and family occasions, visits and trips, business events, notes on church visits, and the payment of bills and accounts. Also includes some lists of cash accounts.
It is not clear to whom the diary belonged. The name 'Thos Nunno, Farrier and Currier, Linlithgow' has been written into the front of the volume, however it is clear from the diary entries that the writer was based in and around York, and that they are likely to be a member of the Cundall family.
Contains historical notes made by various people, as well as historical items collected relating to the history of Acaster Malbis, including items relating to William Burdon's educational Academy.
Exercise book containing notes and equations on various mathematical topics, as well as a printed leaflet containing 'Tables in Arithmetic and Mensuration'. The exercise book it likely to date from early 19th century. The book may have been created by a pupil of Etherington's or Burdon's Academy.
Later pencil notes have been made in the book, relating to the history of the book, the history of education in Acaster Malbis, local history, and genealogy. These notes appear to have been mad by H Raimes in 1908.

Record card noting particulars about Ursula Mary Cundall, including date of death and date of funeral.
Lists dates of birth for family members, principally 1802-1814, but also for 1854. The list has been written on the back of a flyer for The Great norther Railway Company, advertising an issue of stock, 1864.
List includes members of the Cundall family. Later commentary writing has been added to the top of the list in the mid 20th century.

Insurance policy dated 27 October 1902 for property held by Horatio Farrer Cundall. Includes a policy renewal slip dated 13 November 1946 .
Letters concerning the sale of the property to H F Cundall by Reverend J R Keble on behalf of the Ecclesiastical Commission. The majority of the letter are between Reverend Keble and the Ecclesiastical Commission or legal representatives, with a few letters written by H F Cundall. The letters contain detailed information about the legal circumstances of the sale and about the subsequent investment of the money gained through the sale. Also includes an envelope which originally contained this letters.

Includes a copy of the will on paper, and a copy of the probate of the will of Robert Cundall on vellum.

There is considerable overlap of content between files within this series, and it is clear that photographs in different files may have been taken at the same time.
