54 photographic prints, the majority of which comprise formal studio portraits mounted onto card, but also includes a small number of informal family photographs taken in gardens, and one glass mounted photograph. The photographic prints represent a variety of photographic techniques, including albumen prints, platinum prints, and gelatine prints. Some prints have some damage to the surface.
The majority of the prints are not labelled, however some include messages and names. Names mentioned include: Bunny, Mrs Cundall of Acaster Malbis, Frances Foster with Mary, A Cundall at Mount Pleasant Acaster Malbis, Elsie at Strensall, Walter Bradley, Lance Turner, E R Gibbs curate in charge at Acaster Malbis, Dorothy Pank [Park], Anne Cundall (nee Farrer) with Mary and brother, and H J S Gedge.
The photographs include individual portraits, and those of groups. They include images of men, women, and children, and include a small number of men and women in First World War service uniform, and one image of a cat.
Many of the photographs include the names of photographers and photographic studios, principally in York, Harrogate, and Liverpool.
