The choir newsletters include a both internal and public newsletters produced by the York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir. The members newsletters consist of internal newsletters, information sheets and diary sheets given to choir members to notify them of upcoming events and choir news.

There are also a number of public newsletters, published in issues. The choir produced a number of newsletters under different names, over the years. The collection includes newsletters from 1933 to 1990.

Includes minutes from initial meetings to set upt the association, from AGMs, meetings of the Executive Committee, and of the final public meeting to dissolve the association. Also includes some associated reports and papers presented at meetings, including a final report from the Chairman and a history of the association.

Meeting minutes for the reformed York Musical Society, from c. 1876. Includes minutes for meetings of the Committee, along with some minutes for Annual General Meetings, extraordinary meetings, and Trustees' meetings. Some of the volumes and files also include associated papers including meetings papers and reports, newspaper cuttings, correspondence, financial statements, and programmes.

Until 1989 the minutes were kept solely in handwritten form in volumes; between 1989 and 1997 handwritten volumes continued to be kept alongside typescript minutes; from 1997 the minutes were kept only in typescript format. Those included in this series are printed out versions of electronic documents.

Oral history testimonies and trancript from veterans of the Second World War, discussing their experiences. Includes a number of members of York Normandy Veterans.

The files include MPEG 1/2 Audio Layer 3 files (interviews with format identified by DROID), MPEG-4 audio files (interviews without format identified by DROID) and a Microsoft Word document (transcripts).

The date range for these records (2016 - 2020) spans from the earliest creation date to the last-modified date. The last-modified dates were inadvertently altered by preservation actions but the original last-modified dates were recovered and are recorded at file level.

At present this series comprises one copy of 'The Golden Wheel in York', and one copy of 'More about the Golden Wheel in York', both by Cy Read.
