Set of employee salaried staff record book. In some cases the books have been disbound and repackaged by the archivist. The volumes include names of employees, dates of birth, insurance numbers (where applicable) as well as details of positions worked and grades. Also includes details of salaries and bonuses achieved. The volumes are predominantly from the 20th century, but in some cases relate to employees born in the 19th century. The volumes are arranged by the surname of the staff member, and there are overlapping volumes for the same surnames in some cases.

This series includes a variety of items and documents which are apparently connected with the Kleiser family. it includes a lock of human hair, assorted cards and tickets, postcards, handwritten notes, cigar boxes, a book, a copy of an Act regarding playhouses, a travel brochure, an envelope, and pages from a periodical. KLE/7/11 - Kursaal Travel Brochure - is written in French.

Many of these chapbooks are undated, but all appear to be from the first quarter of the 19th century. They were printed and sold in York, and primarily aimed at adults in the city. The chapbooks do not contain illustrations other than on the front cover, and are larger in format than those in CBK/1. Please see individual item descriptions for information about each title.

This series includes 35mm slides collected by Hugh Murray, a local historian in York. The collection was listed by volunteers from York Civic Trust between 2015 and 2017.

The original order of this material has been maintained, and the slides have been item-level listed as they were stored.

The records include subscription and register of members, member concerns (in the form of a suggestion book), visitors books. There are also records that relate to club activities such as dinner dances, christmas cheer and snooker tournaments. A collection of volumes with handwritten copies of various wills from Richmond, Yorkshire and Durham.

Photograph albums, cartes de visite, and loose photographs depicting the Kleiser family and related families and persons (including Cundall family), as well as various locations and the Kleiser shop at 22 Parliament Street. The collection also includes 12 photographs of assorted Catholic clergymen. Some of the photographs include handwritten identifications of the subjects, in others the subject is not identified. Some photographs are professional studio portraits, others are amateur 'snaps'. There are duplicates of some of the photographs. All the photographs are in black and white or sepia, though some have been tinted with colour.
The Cundalls were related to the Kleisers by marriage.

These volumes include handwritten notes and newspaper cuttings compiled by J W Knowles about music events and activities in the city of York and York-based musicians.

Many of these chapbooks are undated, but all appear to be from the first quarter of the 19th century. They were printed and sold in York, and primarily aimed at children in the city. The chapbooks all contain lavish woodcuts as illustrations throughout, and many contain a full Roman printed alphabet and Italian printed alphabet at either the beginning or the end.
